Lenore Huang

Lenore Huang is a singer from China with an eye on the musical variety of cultures around the globe. She first developed her specialty for the music of Latin America during her studies of Latin & Brazilian Voice at Codarts Rotterdam - graduating cum laude – and then discovered a particular passion for Argentine tango, which she is now pursuing through her Master’s program at Codarts. In 2024, under the financial support of het Cultuurfonds, she travelled to Argentina to study tango with local musicians in Buenos Aires.

Huang’s performance is defined by a commitment to the lyrical content of her repertoire, which she brings to life through a combination of her unique voice, expressive phrasing and linguistic abilities, shining a light on the story of each individual song. Acknowledged by important tango figures such as Gustavo Beytelmann and Omar Mollo, she has become a rising talent in the European tango scene.

Stefan Brunner

After finishing his vocational degree in both electric bass and piano at Music College Regensburg, Stefan Brunner decided to pursue a specialization in Latin American music and enrolled for a Latin bass major at Codarts Rotterdam, from which he later graduated summa cum laude with a concert program of his compositions and arrangements.

Since then, he has been performing in various Latin American music styles throughout the Netherlands. His collaborations include Brazilian music groups such as Cantorias and Roda da Holanda (Lilian Vieira, Femke Smit), the Latin jazz quintet Cinco en Clave, and most recently an Argentine tango duo with Lenore Huang.

In his collaborations with Huang, Brunner utilizes his composing skills and proficiency on a variety of instruments to create arrangements specially tailored to her interpretive style and expressive power.
